Delhi Elections: Kejriwal Condemns Electoral Integrity Concerns
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal raises alarm over electoral integrity concerns while addressing infrastructure challenges in Delhi, calling for transparent governance and improved public services.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressing media on electoral integrity concerns in Delhi
In a significant development for electoral transparency, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has taken a strong stance against alleged electoral irregularities, echoing concerns similar to those raised in recent African electoral processes.
Electoral Integrity Under Scrutiny
Speaking to media representatives on Saturday, Kejriwal directly addressed what he termed as "vote chori," suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may be resorting to questionable tactics due to fears of electoral defeat. This situation mirrors recent developments in Ghana, where political parties have emphasized the importance of electoral integrity.
"Vote chori is very wrong. All the parties have raised the right issue. The BJP has realised that it cannot win. Hence, they have resorted to Vote Chori..." stated Kejriwal.
Opposition Response and Electoral Commission Stance
The controversy has expanded with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging irregularities in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, including Bengaluru Central. This echoes concerns about electoral transparency that have been witnessed globally, including in recent pushes for governmental accountability.
Key Developments:
- The Election Commission has rejected the allegations
- Rahul Gandhi has declined to sign an affidavit requested by the Commission
- A 16-day "Voter Adhikar Yatra" was conducted to highlight these concerns
Infrastructure and Public Service Challenges
Beyond electoral concerns, Kejriwal also addressed pressing infrastructure issues during his visit to flood-affected regions in Shastri Park. He highlighted several challenges including:
- Delayed food distribution in relief camps
- Inadequate mosquito control measures
- Water logging due to insufficient drainage maintenance
- Drinking water accessibility issues
The AAP leader has called for immediate government intervention to address these infrastructure challenges, emphasizing the need for proactive governance and public service delivery.
