Speaking to media representatives on Saturday, Kejriwal directly addressed what he termed as "vote chori," suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may be resorting to questionable tactics due to fears of electoral defeat. This situation mirrors recent developments in Ghana, where political parties have emphasized the importance of electoral integrity.
"Vote chori is very wrong. All the parties have raised the right issue. The BJP has realised that it cannot win. Hence, they have resorted to Vote Chori..." stated Kejriwal.
Opposition Response and Electoral Commission Stance
The controversy has expanded with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging irregularities in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, including Bengaluru Central. This echoes concerns about electoral transparency that have been witnessed globally, including in recent pushes for governmental accountability.
